In 2016, reporter Katie Pelton embedded with the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division as they trained at the Army's National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California. The NTC gives soldiers the opportunity to experience what a deployment will be like before going through the real thing. Her coverage includes a series of articles and news stories over her experience, as well as a half-hour special you can watch in its entirety below.
