Spencer Hansen

Executive Producer
Spencer Hansen

Spencer and his wife, along with their corgi -- Finn -- moved to Colorado Springs in August of 2021 after falling in love with Colorado and visiting friends in the Castle Rock area several times.

Spencer was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Lincoln North Star High School in 2011, and then got his Bachelor's of Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2016.

After graduating, Spencer began working at his hometown station KOLN-KGIN 10/11 News as a newscast producer working on the station's 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. In his five years in that role, Spencer won two Heartland Emmy Awards for Best Newscast in 2019 and 2020. He also worked several Nebraska Cornhuskers football gamedays, helped cover massive statewide flooding in 2019, produced live coverage during protests that broke out in downtown Lincoln in the summer of 2020, and even got out into the field with a camera in his hand for breaking news on occasion.

Now in Colorado Springs, Spencer works on KKTV's weeknight 10 p.m. newscasts and helps his fellow producers throughout the day. He loves to go on hikes with his wife and take their dog to the many dog parks in the Springs. If you have any recommendations on places to explore, please let him know!
