Richie Cozzolino

Sports Anchor/Reporter
Colorado Springs
Richie Cozzolino

Richie (or Riccardo, if you'd prefer his formal name) comes to KKTV from the Great Lakes State of Michigan! He grew up in a small, Italian family on the east side of the state, playing sports exceptionally poorly. After a forgettable career on the JV tennis team at his high school in Detroit, Richie transitioned to covering sports from the sidelines.

Richie graduated from his alma mater, Michigan State University in 2015 with a degree in journalism. After college, Richie made stops at WILX-TV in Lansing, MI and WOOD-TV8 in Grand Rapids, MI as a news producer before he accepted a full-time sports gig. He arrived in Colorado in January 2018 on the Western Slope, working at KREX in Grand Junction before moving to the Springs.

In his 5 years of broadcasting, Richie has covered every big event on the Colorado sports calendar, including: Air Force football's 2019 Cheez-It Bowl win, the 2020 NHL Stadium Series at Falcon Stadium, X Games Aspen, the JUCO World Series, and so much more.

In his free time, you can likely find Richie parked in front of his TV, watching his Detroit sports teams lose. Or writing bios.
