Before moving to Colorado, Rebekah reported and anchored in Mobile, Alabama, where she fell in love with storytelling and the Gulf Coast.

As the lead reporter at the state capitol, Rebekah held the governor accountable during his impeachment hearings over allegations of an affair and misuse of taxpayer dollars. During legislative sessions, she was a key reporter in covering the allotment of BP oil spill settlement funding following the Deepwater Horizon disaster of 2010. She made it her goal to make complex stories easily understandable for her audience.

Rebekah also covered the human toll natural disasters took on the community. She’ll never forget the families she met picking up the pieces after tornadoes in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and families fleeing their homes during hurricanes on the Gulf Coast.

Rebekah began her reporting career in her home state of Iowa, working in several newsrooms in the eastern part of the state.

She and her husband adopted a rescue pup they named Sammie from the evacuation areas of Hurricane Harvey. They dreamed of calling Colorado home for some time. When not at work, Rebekah loves spending time outdoors with Sammie and checking out local breweries.
