PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Six southern Colorado kids and teens have been charged with felonies for stealing Kias and Hyundais.

Pueblo Police Property Crimes Detectives tells 11 News they have been investigating these thefts for months and the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office says they are searching for two more kids and teens that are involved. The DA’s Office says once those kids and teens are arrested, they will face the same charges.

Detectives tell 11 News their investigation led to the recovery of multiple Kias and Hyundais that were stolen. According to the department, they recovered the stolen vehicles in Pueblo, Fountain and Colorado Springs.

During their investigation, police learned eight kids, referred to as the “Kia Boys” are involved in these thefts. Police say these kids and teens are between the ages of 12 and 15 with both boys and girls involved. Pueblo Police were able to provide warrants for all eight of them but so far, only six have been charged. According to Colorado Springs Police, in September, Kia and Hyundai models make up 30% of all motor vehicle thefts in Colorado Springs.

With the kids and teens involved being minors, Pueblo Police and the Pueblo DA’s Office are not able to provide their names or mugshots. The Pueblo DA’s Office tells 11 News there are no trials set for any of these cases.
