COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Crews were called to a small grass fire in Colorado Springs Monday night.
At about 7:45 p.m. flames were visible near the VA medical clinic close to W. Fillmore Street and Centennial Boulevard. As crews arrived they located a “transient camp on the hillside with active flames that had spread from windy conditions”.
Multiple crews worked to extinguish the fire.
CSFD says numerous homes in the area were not threatened although the fire got close.
No suspects have been identified at the time this article was written, but the incident is being handled by the CSPD Homeless Outreach Team (H.O.T). They will investigate the homeless camp and responsible parties.
