(KKTV) - Nikola Jokic with the Denver Nuggets won the 2020-21 NBA MVP award, according to Shams Charania with The Athletic and Stadium.

Jokic isn’t your typical MVP candidate. Playing for a team that entered the NBA Playoffs as a number three seed, Jokic helped lift his team to the postseason even without Jamal Murray in the final weeks of the regular season after Murray suffered a torn ACL in April. He’s the first player in NBA history this season to average at least 26 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists on better than 52 percent shooting. Not to mention, Jokic played in all 72 regular season games this season.

This is a developing story and this article will be updated. Honestly, Nuggets fans know, Jokic is the man. He didn’t even earn a full-time starting job until the 2016-17 season.
