COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The second million-dollar winner for the Colorado Comeback Cash vaccine lottery is expected to be picked Wednesday. The state health department has said it takes entries from vaccine records contained in the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS), but what happens if you can’t find your information in that database?

The state said Coloradans can now call the state’s 24/7 vaccine hotline at 1-877-CO-VAX-CO (1-877-268-2926) for assistance.

Even though you might not be able to find your information in the database, the state said that doesn’t mean it’s not there. Here’s what the state says about why some people are having problems locating their vaccine records:

If you have been unable to verify your immunization information through the online Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS) portal, it is most likely because the information your health care provider reported does not exactly match what you are entering in the portal. When searching through the portal, the following fields must match exactly what the provider entered: first name, last name, date of birth, gender, and mobile phone number and/or email address. Because CIIS has records of all vaccinations entered by Colorado providers, not just COVID-19 vaccinations, you may have an older phone number or email address associated with your name in the system. If a friend or family member scheduled your vaccine appointment for you, their phone number or email address may be associated with your information.

What if I was vaccinated through a VA or DoD health provider?

If you were vaccinated through the Department of Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense, your information will not show up in CIIS. Instead, the state has requested that the VA and DoD provide anonymous data to the state the morning of each drawing.

“If CDPHE does not receive information from the VA or DoD on the morning of the Drawing, the records contained in those databases will not be included in that day’s Drawing,” the official rules state.

What if I was vaccinated out of state?

If you live in Colorado but got your COVID-19 vaccine in a different state, you should reach out to the CIIS Help Desk to have your record updated. The state says you will need to provide some personal information, as well as proof of vaccination. Call 303-692-2437, and select option 2.
