Phillip Lindsay, Broncos parting ways
DENVER (KKTV) - Running back Phillip Lindsay will not be returning to the Broncos.
The team announced Lindsay’s departure Thursday morning, calling it a mutual parting.
“After a memorable three-year career with the Broncos, Lindsay will move forward and continue his NFL career with another club,” the Broncos wrote on the team’s official website. “The Broncos officially rescinded Lindsay’s right-of-first-refusal tender on Wednesday, which made Lindsay an unrestricted free agent able to sign with any team.”
Lindsay was raised in Colorado and has spent his entire football career in Colorado, first starring at Denver South High School, then playing for the University of Colorado, and lastly being signed by the Broncos in 2018 after initially going undrafted.
Lindsay thanked the fans in a series of tweets and called playing for the Broncos a dream come true for a Colorado kid.
The news of Lindsay’s departure comes on the heels of an announcement that Denver linebacker Von Miller was staying with the team.
