COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A driver was killed late Tuesday morning after police say he crossed into oncoming traffic and slammed into a concrete wall outside a Colorado Springs shopping center. CSPD identified the driver as 75-year-old Dennis Laurence of Colorado Springs

The crash was reported at 11 a.m. on South Circle Drive and Janitell next to the Kohl’s department store.

According to police, was rounding the big curve in the roadway on Circle and heading west towards the interstate when he abruptly crossed into the eastbound lanes before crashing into the concrete barrier. The driver did not hit any other vehicles, and no one else was in the car with him.

Police say excessive speed and impairment are not factors in this crash.

The driver has not been identified publicly.
