Colorado Springs firefighters rescue construction worker trapped in trench

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Springs Fire Department rescued one person trapped in a trench Wednesday morning.
This happened on the 600 block of Barnes. The fire department says a sidewall collapsed, trapping a construction worker in a hole. The worker was trapped up to his stomach, but crews were able to use machinery to pull the dirt away and safely get him out.
CSFD told 11 News it was a “safe, swift operation.” The worker is being checked at a local hospital, but is expected to be okay.
