There’s a virus targeting teens and adults this week in Colorado Springs. It’s a virus with upper respiratory symptoms. This comes from Dr. Tom Bartlett with Mountain View Medical Group.

Symptoms include a fever, abdominal pain, and some loose stools. You’ll also have nausea without vomiting. This can be followed by up to two days with muscle aches and pains.

Dr. Bartlett says these symptoms can be treated with over-the-counter medicine for pain and stomach troubles. Drink plenty of fluids and get lots of rest.

Local physicians also remind you to get your flu shot this year. If you or your kids are worried about needles, ask your doctor about the flu mist. It will also protect you.
