Dr. Michael W. Halenkamp with Pediatric Division of Colorado Springs says he's seeing a growing number of hay fever cases in kids.

Hay fever can affect kids and adults all year round. But this time of year, the likely culprit behind these cases is ragweed pollen.

Symptoms of hay fever include a clear nasal discharge, an itchy nose with sneezing and sniffling... itchy, watery eyes and sometimes sinus or ear congestion.

Patients will likely be given an oral antihistamine to relieve symptoms.

Hay fever is not contagious. But it is a chronic condition, so it will likely come back the same time every year.
