WOODLAND PARK - Allergies
Dr. Uusinarkaus with Colorado Springs Health Partners says he's seeing a lot of allergy related symptoms.
Those symptoms include sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose and post nasal drip.
Over-the-counter antihistamines can help as well as certain prescription medications.
For example, your doctor can prescribe a nasal steroid spray.
If you're prone to allergies, it's best to treat them before they start.
HEALTH TIP - Sun Safety
Dr. Max Nevarez Junior with CSHP says sun protection is one of the most important things you can do for your child.
When outdoors, make sure to use sunscreen and reapply every couple of hours.
A hat can also offer good protection.
Remember, a bad sunburn as a child means a higher risk of skin cancer later in life.
Children with fair skin, freckles and moles, and those with a family history of skin cancer are at an increased risk.
