WOODLAND PARK - Cough
Dr. Kari Uusinarkaus with Colorado Springs Health Partners says, he's seen a lot of cough in the community.
It's viral in nature, and typically resolves on its own after 7 to 10 days.
Along with the cough, you may also have a runny nose and sore throat.
Treat the symptoms with over-the-counter medication.
But, if you also develop a fever, chest pains, shortness of breath or symptoms that last longer than 10 days, see you doctor.
It could be a more serious infection.
SOUTHWEST COLORADO SPRINGS - Gastroenteritis (Stomach Bug)
Dr. Bridget Tewes with CSHP reports more cases of that dreaded stomach bug.
Symptoms are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping, fever and chills.
It's best to give your bowels a rest from solid foods.
But, keep up the fluids, especially water, to prevent dehydration.
