SOUTHWEST COLORADO SPRINGS - Influenza

Dr. Bridget Tewes with Colorado Springs Health Partners says, we're not done yet.

The flu is still out there.

Symptoms include high fever of 101 or greater, severe body aches and cough.

A reminder, influenza is very contagious. So, stay in bed and keep up the fluids.

Doctors recommend using Tylenol or Motrin to easy aches and keep the fever down.

NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO SPRINGS - Severe Gastroenteritis

Dr. Bruce Kautz with Dublin Primary Care is reporting a severe case of gastroenteritis, or stomach bug.

There is lots of vomiting and diarrhea with this illness.

It's extremely contagious, and family members are getting ill almost immediately.

Try and keep up the fluids to prevent dehydration.

For adults in the household, the illness is lasting about 2 days.

For the kids it's more like 3 to 5 days.

See your health care provider if symptoms don't improve.
