EAST COLORADO SPRINGS - Viral Gastroenteritis

Dr. Brad Tewes with Colorado Springs Health Partners says, he's seeing another round of gastroenteritis (Stomach Bug).

He's mostly seeing it in high school and college age kids.

Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping plus fever and chills.

The illness is lasting about a week.

Dr. Tewes says to cut down on solid food intake to give your bowles a rest and make sure you get plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.

NORTH CENTRAL COLORADO SPRINGS - Viral Upper Respiratory Illness

Dr. David Zirkle with Dublin Primary Care says, he's seeing an increase in upper respiratory illnesses.

The most common symptoms are runny nose, nasal congestion and sneezing.

You may also experience sore throat, cough, muscle aches and headache.

He recommends getting plenty of rest and drinking plenty of fluids.

Over-the-counter cold remedies may help ease your symptoms.
