WOODLAND PARK - Dry Cough
Dr. Kari Uusinarkaus with Colorado Springs Health Partners reports a good number of patients with a dry cough.
He says, many times there is no associated fever, sore throat, ear pain or other symptoms.
He believes it's likely viral in origin.
Bed rest and over-the-counter cough medicines may help.
If you do develop a fever or have difficulty breathing see your doctor to make sure you don't have something more serious, like pneumonia.
SOUTHWEST COLORADO SPRINGS - Gastroenteritis
Dr. Bridget Tewes with CSHP says, she's been seeing more Gastroenteritis this week.
Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea.
And this one is lasting more than the usual 24 hours. It's more like a few days.
Try and keep the fluids up, if you can stomach it.
EAST COLORADO SPRINGS - Bacterial Bronchitis
Dr. Brad Tewes with CSHP reports multiple cases of bacterial bronchitis.
It's characterized by a productive cough, and lasts at least 2 weeks.
You'll need to see you doctor about this one, as it will require antibiotic treatment.
