NEWS ALERT: Just after 9 p.m., the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said that rushing water was approaching Manitou Springs. Residents have been told to seek higher ground.
Storm clouds have once again descended upon El Paso County and parts of Teller County, and residents are once again bracing themselves for another possible round of flash flooding.
While the Waldo Canyon burn scar has largely avoided heavy rainfall, it remains under major threat of flash flooding due to storms in Teller County. Our 11 News meteorologists say that rain in areas of Teller County that are above the burn scar is pushing rising creek waters to the east and south. Residents living near that burn scar are advised to stay "weather aware" until the threat passes.

People living in east Colorado Springs are reporting heavy rain and coin-sized hail. One woman, living near the Black Forest burn scar, said her yard has become a lake.
"We need a boat!" she told 11 News.
Two water rescues have already been reported, both at Voyager and Copper Center after two vehicles got stranded.
Manitou Springs has already opened an evacuation center at 1st Congregational Church, located on 103 Pawnee Road.
At this time, current rain totals (subject to change) are:
Four miles from Air Force Academy: 2.18 inches
Northeast of Air Force Academy: 2.66 inches
Five miles southeast of Monument: 2.93 inches.
