Why The Video Looks Shaky (Don Ward)
Updated: 06/18/2013 - We did a quick helicopter tour of the Black Forest burn area. Someone asked why the video looks shaky.
An elderly woman was shocked after a tree fell onto her home during the storm that pounded Colorado Springs Wednesday night.
Joy Sunderland lives off Sonoma Drive in the Southeast part of town.
She says she turned off her TV and didn't realize that this storm was coming.
All the sudden she says she heard hail, and then a "loud boom".
"I heard a loud bang, I thought it was thunder," said Sunderland.
Then she went outside and saw a tree laying on her roof.
This is the worst storm she has seen in her 25 years living here.
"I'm glad it didn't cave in my bathroom roof. I would have a lot of water inside," said Sunderland.
Fortunately the damage to her home did not appear to be too significant, but it will cost to replace her broken fence.
"It was kind of scary, but not too much scares me anymore," said Sunderland.
