Snow is expected to develop for our Monday afternoon and overnight hours. Bands of heavier snow are possible..and something we will be monitoring throughout the day today. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Watch for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. While there will be ample sunshine today, you can expect another cold night with lows in the 20s and 30s. Some counties are once again under a freeze warning.
Areas that did not experience a hard freeze Monday night are once again under a freeze warning through 9:00 Wednesday morning. These areas include Pueblo, Canon City, Walsenburg, Trinidad, and all of the Southeast Plains.
Be sure to protect your plants and drain the manifold on your sprinkler system before heading off to bed tonight. Homeowners may need to cover their plants or bring them indoors.
