Thunderstorms brought heavy rains and some flooding Monday afternoon.
One of the worst spots was Highway 115 at Star Ranch Road, where the flood waters were several inches deep. Although the waters receded within a few minutes, it was enough to stall one car and close Star Ranch Road briefly.
Between 1 and 2 inches of rain fell in that area in less than an hour.
The storm also washed some rocks onto the roadway near Bear Creek Road and Lower Gold Camp Road.
Later in the evening, the weather also caused a mud slide that closed Highway 24.
Meteorologist Brian Bledsoe predicts additional storms will impact parts of Southern Colorado throughout the rest of the evening. The main threat, he believes, will continue to be heavy rain.
