Woodland Park got its first officlal dusting of the season on Tuesday morning around 11:00. Residents there say the snow started as morning rainshowers, by 11:00 a.m. turned into snowflakes and by noon the sky was grey and white and the big, fluffy flakes were falling fast enough to stick to grass, trees, even sidewalks.
Merry Jo Larsen, a long-time resident of Woodland Park, was thrilled, "I love it, this is why we live here!"
She says she's glad to see summer finally come to an end, and that the moisture was well-needed and welcomed in the area.
Ralph Holloway with the Seven Arrows Gallery was also glad to see the white fluff start falling, "oh I loved it, I loved it, I thought it was great!" He says the snow was so charming, it inspired him to start decorating his store with Christmas decorations.
The snow didn't last long, and had melted off soon after the sun came back out, but for a short while, it was a great sight for those looking forward to what's to come.
