The Colorado Springs Police Department is no longer on accident alert status, as of 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Police will now respond to accidents using normal protocol.
Snow crews worked Wednesday morning to clear roads affected by the overnight snow fall.
Primary routes--multi-lane roads with high volumes of traffic or access to hospitals--were the first to be cleared, followed by secondary routes, which includes collector streets and roads with school access. According to a release from the City, crews started at 5 a.m.
Roads on the northeast side of the Springs were reportedly slicker than the west side of town, where conditions were mostly slushy.
