Snow is expected to develop for our Monday afternoon and overnight hours. Bands of heavier snow are possible..and something we will be monitoring throughout the day today. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Watch for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. A crash in the southbound lanes of I-25 just north of the Bijou exit has been cleared. A driver reportedly hyrdoplaned during a downpour in Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon and hit a vehicle towing a horse trailer.
The horses were wrangled in the median until help arrived. Lanes in the area were closed for close to an hour and a half. The accident was cleared from the interstate around 8:16 pm. No word on whether anyone was cited. There are no reports of injuries at this time.
