Severe weather ripped through Southern Colorado Thursday afternoon and evening, producing large hail, strong winds, torrential rain and even a few tornadoes.

There were several brief touchdowns south and southwest of Eads. There were no reports of any damage.

With the stronger storms, there were also reports of strong, gusty winds. Straight-line winds over 70mph were reported out over the Eastern Plains. Winds toppled over power poles about five miles northeast of Wiley.

According to the National Weather Service, golf ball sized hail was reported near Peyton in El Paso County and outside Brandon in Kiowa County.

All storms should diminish or exit the area by early Friday morning.
