Mother Nature put on her own show for the 4th of July, hitting Southern Colorado with large hail, heavy rain and damaging winds.

Multiple severe thunderstorms moved through Southern Colorado Sunday evening.

The stronger storms produced large hail. In places like Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Kiowa and Limon, large hail stones varied between 1 and 1.5 inch diameters. Even larger hail occurred in Lincoln County. According to law enforcement there, hail shattered the windshields of about 20-25 cars along I-70.

From hail to tornados, funnel clouds were spotted in northeastern El Paso County, along with in Elbert and Lincoln counties. There were several doppler indicated tornados in these areas, but there were no official reports of any tornados touching down.

Storms will completely exit the area by early Monday morning.
