The city of Colorado Springs has more than two dozen snow plows clearing the main roadways.

Crews will be on full-call out until later this afternoon (Sunday).

The 32 trucks are spread all throughout town. Crews are concentrating in the worst hit areas which is the North and West side of town. Allen Peterson with the Colorado Springs Streets Division says trucks are being dispersed in the areas where it's needed most and are only clearing the main artery roadways.

Road conditions throughout the springs seem to be improving. Snow trucks are mostly dealing with wet, slushy and icy road hazards.

Side residential streets, according to Peterson, will not be plowed. Peterson says side streets are cleared only when more than 6 inches of snow falls.

Snow plow workers will take a break in the middle of the day on Sunday and then another crew will be dispatched later Sunday night and into the Monday morning hours to help clear streets that freeze over throughout the night.

If conditions on Monday morning are worse than expected, more snow plow drivers will be dispatched.
