A flood warning for El Paso County expired Sunday night.

The heavy rain across parts of Southern Colorado caused some trouble.

Sunday there was thunder, lightning and one Springs resident said he saw hail too.

"It's been lightning and thundering," said youngster Robbie Schwartz.

"Lot of big puddles," said youngster Garrett Schwartz.

"It's a lot of fun playing in the mud," said Schwartz who spent the day with his brother and dad at a Colorado Springs bike park.

"The rain is good for us. It's keeping the fire dangers at a low," said Colorado Springs resident Myron Schwartz.

The heavy rain, at one point on Sunday, came down quick and filled up intersections fast putting some drivers in slow mode.

Colorado Springs Utilities said they even got hit with some power outages which they say may have been caused by the downpour.

Hundreds of customers had to go without electricity for a few hours on Sunday.

Guests who spent their Sunday at Territory Days Festival in Old Colorado City had a bit of a standstill of their own. "It was kind of horrible to come down here and see all the vendors and then they were all closed," said Colorado Springs resident Krysta Gatliff.

The vendors closed for a short period of time until the rain let up. That didn't bother Gatliff who stayed for festivities despite the rain. "I didn't want to miss it," said Gatliff.

Monday is the last day of Territory Days. If you're planning on going you may want to bring an umbrella.

Do you have any rain totals for the area yet? Curious, too, what the mountain areas have received for rain.
