A storm system will spread snow across Southern Colorado Friday morning...

Occasional snow showers can be expected today, with the most persisten snow falling near and south of HWY 50. During the late morning and afternoon, the snow will gradually wind down from north to south. Therefore, you the evening commute should move along rather smoothly.
Potential Accumulations Ending Friday Evening:
Trace to 2" - Colorado Springs, Monument, Black Forest, Palmer Lake, Woodland Park, Fountain, Canon City, Pueblo, Calhan, Alamosa, Lamar, and Springfield.
2 to 5" - Lincoln County (south of Limon), Ordway, La Junta, Walsenburg, Aguilar, Trinidad, Rye, Beulah, and Colorado City. Isolated 6" amounts possible just west of Walsenburg and Trinidad.
6" or more will be possible in a the higher elevations of the Wet and Sangre de Cristo Mountains. In fact, Cuchara may see amounts nearing 10 to 12" before the snow ends Friday evening.
