Emergency responders are searching through tornado wreckage in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. That’s where eight people died in a twister.

The large, violent tornado ripped through the southern Oklahoma town late yesterday damaging and destroying structures. Dozens of people were injured.

KKTV 11News spoke with our sister station KXII in Ardmore, Oklahoma in a live interview on 11News This Morning. KXII is just a mile-and-a-half from where the tornado struck.

Reporter Mark Van Paasschen tells us they’re just now getting a look at the damage. Homes are gone. Trees and power-lines are down. He also says the town of Lone Grove has two trailer parks, but one was wiped out by the storm.

The tornado was one of several unusual February twisters that touched down in Oklahoma, including in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, where homes and businesses were damaged.
