Some roads are still icy, many side streets are still snow packed and the city of Colorado Springs is hoping to get most of it cleared up by Monday morning before the rush of traffic.
The Colorado Springs Streets Division kept all 54 of their snow plow trucks and drivers out all day and night on Sunday.
While streets were slowly getting cleaned up most drivers did a good job of taking it slow and allowing plenty of space between them and the car in front of them.
"I'm shoveling snow," said Colorado Springs resident Marshall McCann.
McCann like many other folks around town spent part of their Sunday doing just that. "It's not too heavy, but the snow is coming down a lot," said McCann.
The southwest part of the Springs got hit the hardest. "This is about as much as we'll usually get, and sometimes we'll get more, but this is about our average," said McCann.
There were even pockets of up to 7 inches of snow in some places. "The Northern end of town off the Palmer Divide is normally where we see the larger amounts of snow, so this is a little opposite," said Bill Moritz who is with the Colorado Springs Streets Division.
