My son actually spotted a funnel cloud about 1:30pm in that direction. My wife and I looked and did see debris being picked up and a clear absoulte funnel reaching to the clouds. At first we wondered if it was just smoke or a fire. When we stopped the van, we did see clearly that it was a tornado. It was west of Fontaine about only 2 miles away.

Don't wait till a tragedy happens, get the warning system back to running. You can't replace lives.I'm very thankful for Minneapolis to having the warning system, considering all the tornadoes of either sighting or touching down around here.Don't like the loud noise, wear earplugs.

The warning system was not removed because people thought they were an eye sore, they were removed for the same reason everything else is taken away..MONEY, the county did not want to spend the money on the warning system. When sadly someone dies they will relook at the system.

I was at work and I heard nothing of funnel clouds or Tornado Warnings in the area. Nothing came on the radio. I heard it on the news when I got home. We need a better warning system. Whats going to happen when we actually do have a Tornado and there is no warning? We really do need a warning system...

I lived in the security area when it was decided to remove the warning system. They were removed because people in the town considered them to be an eyesore and did not like the loud noise due to periodic tests that would be conducted.
