Flood Waters Literally Drown Cedar Rapids

Flooding problems continue to plague Iowa where the governor and director of FEMA plan to tour devastated areas today.

More than 3,900 homes have been evacuated in Cedar Rapids, where an estimated 100 city blocks are under water that's nearing the tops of stop signs.

There's trouble in Des Moines, too. Officials are urging residents to evacuate more than 200 homes north of downtown for fear the Des Moines River will top a nearby levee. City leaders are also watching the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers through downtown.

And there are more evacuations in Iowa City and Coralville.

Nine Iowa rivers are at or above historic flood levels and the governor has declared 55 of the state's 99 counties as state disaster areas.

Parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Missouri are also experiencing high water.
