Thousands of people gathered in Aurora Sunday evening for a vigil to remember the victims of the shootings at a movie theater.
Those attending said they believe Aurora is a strong community and although they have a long road ahead of them, they are committed to moving forward in hope and in love.
People remain hurt, angry and confused, but they vow to help each other overcome this tragedy.
The families of some of the victims attended. Priests, pastors, rabbis, and strangers offered the families messages of encouragement and strength.
One pastor said there are no easy answers, but the pain is bearable as they all share in it together.
One woman at the vigil, Madelene Sabol, told 11 News "it's heartbreaking this happened so close to home. It's wonderful that everybody comes together and they believe in the Lord. But we're going to move on and be strong."
