The man accused of killing 12 and injuring 58 others when he opened fire in a crowded movie theater sent a notebook with vivid writings about violent acts to University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack.
The mailing contains a spiral notebook including writings that highlighted violent acts. It was found inside a central mail room at the school Monday.
According to a defense motion Friday, Holmes was being treated by psychiatrist Dr. Lynne Fenton, who is also a professor at the school. The defense motioned to keep communication between the two away from the public eye, and sought to track down how the package's contents got leaked to the media.
