If news organizations get their way, the public could learn more about Aurora shooting suspect James Holmes' time at the University of Colorado-Denver.
Various media outlets are expected to go in front of a judge Thursday asking that a sweeping gag order be removed in the case against James Holmes. The gag order currently bars the school from releasing any details about Holmes.
News organizations will also request access to court documents, including interviews with witnesses and inventories of collected evidence.
Prosecutors argue that releasing these documents could jeopardize their investigation, something Chief District Judge William Sylvester agreed with when he issued the gag order and had the documents sealed last month.
Holmes is expected to attend Thursday's hearing.
