Jesse Kurtz was hired as KKTV's Sports Director in December of 2009 after serving as the station's Weekend Sports Anchor for seven years (hired in 2002).

During his time at KKTV, Jesse has helped launch such shows as Friday Night End Zone, Full Court Press and Double Coverage. Jesse’s work has been recognized on the local, state and national level.

In addition to his work at KKTV, Jesse has worked as a sideline reporter for nationally -televised NFL games and college basketball games.
Jesse served as a Top 25 voter for College Football's Harris Poll (1 of 114 in the country) from 2007-2010. He is also active in the Southern Colorado community volunteering his time for local charities and the Sportswomen of Colorado where he serves on the state selection committee for the annual awards banquet.

The highlights of Jesse's career at KKTV include sitting with Joe Scott and the Air Force Men's Basketball team when they learned they were invited to the NCAA Tournament in 2004, getting doused with champagne in the Rockies locker room after Colorado advanced to the World Series and traveling with Colorado College to the Frozen Four in 2005 in Columbus, Ohio.

Before joining KKTV, Jesse spent two years at KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa where he was fortunate to cover the University of Nebraska's national championship run to the Rose Bowl and the College World Series.

Jesse is a Colorado native and graduated Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a double-major in Technical Journalism and Speech Communication.

Jesse is married to his beautiful wife Sjahna. They are looking forward to the 2025 and 2028 Heisman Trophy Celebrations when their two sons, Kellen and Braden, are the odds-on favorites to win college football's most prestigious award! When he is not at work Jesse likes to spend time with his family, on the golf course, and playing with his two dogs, Ripken and Maddux.
