Don Ward co-anchors KKTV 11 News at 4:00 with Betty Sexton, and 5:30 and 10:00 with Shannon Brinias. His broadcasting career, which began in 1988, includes earning numerous professional honors and maintaining strong ties to Colorado. Before joining KKTV 11 News, his anchoring and reporting work includes: KWGN-TV in Denver, KXII-TV in Ardmore, OK, KSWO-TV in Lawton, OK, KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs, CO, WLKY-TV in Louisville, KY and WLWT-TV in Cincinnati, OH.
He has earned AP awards in Colorado, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Ohio for spot news, investigative reporting, documentaries and continuing coverage. He earned 2 Emmys as news reporter in the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He has also been nominated for Emmys for writing, spot news and reporting.
Don earned a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO and he is a graduate of Doherty High School in Colorado Springs.
