Kristin Haubrich joined the KKTV 11 News Team in April 2012 after working as a reporter at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado. In March 2013, Haubrich was honored to receive the Colorado Broadcasters Association award "Best Specialty Reporter for breaking news coverage in 2012." Kristin worked a wide range of news stories from the devastation of the Waldo Canyon Fire to the kidnapping and murder of 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway.
While reporting in Grand Junction, Haubrich interviewed former presidential candidate John McCain. She also brought viewers the story of an orphaned Haitian girl adopted in the U.S. after surviving Haiti’s destructive earthquake. Prior to Grand Junction, Haubrich spent a year as a reporter/anchor for KSAX-TV in Alexandria, Minnesota. She also completed a summer internship at NBC-2 in Fort Myers, Florida.
A Minnesota native, Haubrich graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in Communication. Haubrich was an All-Regional Cross Country Runner/Track and Field athlete, captain and MVP. She still holds the Blazer Track record in the 1500 meter race at 4:42. Haubrich also served as President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. She was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team and represented her school at the NCAA Leadership Conference.
