Updated: 05/20/2013 - Two weekends left to catch one great show!
When the temperatures heat up outside, we always intend to be more active. But it can be a challenge to fight off the temptation to sit pool-side or to stay in the air conditioning.
Jerod Langness with Fitness Origin suggests that we create some new, healthier summer-time habits. “You want to better your body through proper training, so you can be better yourself for your favorite activities,” said Jerod. “Learn how to properly move your body. Get out of your comfort zone.”
Here are some suggestions Jerod has to make that happen:
Try recreational sports
Explore the local trails
Visit the zoo
Take the family to the park or track
Do yard work
Walk instead of driving the golf cart
Go for walks/runs
Minimize being poolside, maximize being in the pool
Make it fun!
And Jerod also reminds us not to forget about the nutritional aspect of your healthy summer lifestyle!
Here are his suggestions for that:
Enjoy the fresh, in-season produce
Grill
Drink lots of water
