Your kids are back in school. They're making new friends and bringing home schoolwork. They're also bringing home germs and this week, maybe something more serious… strep throat.

That's according to Dr. Tracy Cerniglia, She's with Colorado Springs Health Partners on the east side of town.

Here's a look at the symptoms she's seeing... fever, sore throat, headache, nausea, vomiting and stomach aches. She says the best treatment is antibiotics. But of course, talk to your doctor.

And don't forget, there are preventative measures you can take against strep like good hand-washing. Also, remind your child not to share foods and drinks with other kids. It's good advice, especially as we head into the cold and flu season.
