Broncos Sign Casey Wiegmann, Re-Sign Cecil Sapp

Posted: 03/24/2008 - The Denver Broncos on Monday signed unrestricted free-agent center Casey Wiegmann and re-signed unrestricted free-agent running back Cecil Sapp, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed. Wiegmann (6-foot-2, 285 pounds) is a 13th-year player who joins Denver after starting at center for Kansas City during the past seven seasons. He also has played for Chicago (1997-2000), the New York Jets (1997) and Indianapolis (1996), which signed him as a college free agent from the University of Iowa.

Iverson had 36 points, Anthony added 33 and Martin shut down Toronto all-star Chris Bosh late as Denver rallied to beat the Toronto Raptors 109-100 on Sunday afternoon.

Posted: 03/23/2008 - Air Force is the fourth seed in the Northeast Regional in the NCAA Hockey Championships. The Falcons will face No. 1 seed Miami (Ohio), Saturday, March 29, at 4:05 p.m. ET at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. The game will be televised on ESPN U. Air Force, 21-11-6 overall, is making its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Falcons, the Atlantic Hockey Association champions, are 0-1 all-time in the NCAA Tournament after losing a heartbreaker to top-seeded Minnesota, 4-3, in the NCAA West Regional in Denver last season.

Nuggets Score Franchise Record 168 Points

Posted: 03/16/2008 - The scoreboard at the Pepsi Center didn't stop until the Denver Nuggets stopped shooting. Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points, Allen Iverson had 24 and Marcus Camby had a triple-double as the Nuggets set an NBA season high for points in a game with a 168-116 rout of Seattle. The 168 points are the most Denver has scored in a game since a 1984 overtime game against San Antonio. It is also the most the Nuggets have scored in regulation.

Martin Brodeur stopped 24 shots in reaching 40 wins for a record seventh time. Jay Pandolfo added a goal and an assist. Dainius Zubrus, Jamie Langenbrunner and John Madden also scored for the Devils, who have won five of six.
