Rockies Lock Up Brad Hawpe

Updated: 03/04/2008 - Brad Hawpe and the Colorado Rockies have agreed to a three-year contract worth more than 17.4 million dollars. That makes the right fielder the fourth key Rockies player to receive a longterm deal following the team's first World Series appearance last October. Cook gave up two hits including Chris Young's first homer of the spring and a triple by Orlando Hudson. Batting in the leadoff spot, Young had a double and a homer for his first two hits of the spring, and he drove in two runs. Young had struck out three times in his first seven spring at-bats.
