Rockies Outlast Padres In 22 Innings

Posted: 04/18/2008 - Colorado and San Diego did just that Thursday night and into Friday morning, slogging through a 22-inning game that was the longest in the majors in nearly 15 years. The Rockies finally won 2-1, with Troy Tulowitzki's two-out RBI double bringing in Willy Taveras with an unearned run in nearly empty Petco Park. A game that lasted 6 hours, 16 minutes was decided by an unearned run.

Avalanche Take 3-2 Series Lead

Updated: 04/18/2008 - Jose Theodore and the Colorado Avalanche just sat back and waited. Then Wojtek Wolski and Paul Stastny pushed the Minnesota Wild to the edge of elimination. U.S. Anti-Doping Agency Launches New System

Posted: 04/17/2008 - The Colorado Springs-based U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has launched the opening phase of a voluntary pilot program it hopes will improve the accuracy of doping tests. USADA will profile the body chemistry of 12 participating athletes using a series of blood and urine tests, and those measurements will be used as a baseline for subsequent tests.

Chiefs May Trade Jared Allen

Posted: 04/17/2008 - The Kansas City Chiefs are in discussions with several teams about trading defensive end Jared Allen, who led the NFL in sacks last season. Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson issued a statement Thursday confirming the team has discussed Allen with a few teams interested in acquiring the Chiefs' designated franchise player. The Chiefs and Allen have been unable to work out a contract for almost a year.

Detective Sharon Hahn says Anthony was arrested at about 4 a.m. on Interstate 25. Hahn says an officer pulled him over for weaving and failing to dim his lights. Hahn says Anthony failed a series of sobriety tests.

The senior captain beat out Boston College's Nathan Gerbe and Miami of Ohio's Ryan Jones for hockey's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. ''This is an amazing honor and a great award,'' Porter said. ''But our main goal here was to come and win a national championship. We're still disappointed about last night.''
