Helton hit a two-run homer Thursday for his first home run of the spring in the Colorado Rockies' 6-6 tie with the Texas Rangers.
Helton sent a 3-2 fastball from Luis Mendoza over the right-centerfield wall in the bottom of the fourth to highlight the Rockies' five-run inning.

Jaroslav Hlinka and Tyler Arnason each had a goal and an assist to send the Avalanche to their eighth victory in nine games. Hlinka put the Avs ahead 2-0 just 18 seconds into the middle period before Arnason added a power-play goal just over three minutes later.

Updated: 4:55 PM Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson has a small fracture on his right ring finger but will continue to play.
The team said X-rays taken on Monday detected a non-displaced fracture at the end of the finger.
Iverson was injured in a game against the Spurs in Denver on Saturday night.
Updated: 4:33 PM Senior Tim Anderson was named the Mountain West Conference men's basketball Defensive Player of the Year Monday by league coaches and selected media. Anderson, a guard from El Paso, Texas, was also selected to the all-MWC second-team. This is Air Force's first major MWC post-season award since Nick Welch was named co-Player of the Year and Joe Scott earned Coach of the Year honors following the 2003-04 campaign.
Posted: 2:42 PM Colorado Avalanche center Peter Forsberg missed last night's game against the Dallas Stars with a groin injury. He was listed by the club as day-to-day.
Forsberg sustained the injury in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Dallas. He re-signed with the Avalanche on Feb. 25 and has two assists in three games, both coming Saturday.
Updated: 8:22 AM The ThunderWolves have drawn the eighth and lowest seed in the North Central region, pitting them against the one-seed University South Dakota, the regional host for the NCAA Division II national tournament, the NCAA announced Sunday night.
South Dakota, 28-1 won the North Central Conference, beating North Dakota in the championship game on Sunday.
