LARAMIE, Wyo. - Wyoming football coach Dave Christensen has been fined $50,000 and suspended for one week for his profanity laced outburst directed toward Air Force coach Troy Calhoun.
The fine and suspension come from the University of Wyoming.
Christensen alleged that Air Force had faked an injury with quarterback Connor Dietz which allowed the Falcons to have more time to prepare the next play without using a timeout. The ensuing play was a go-ahead touchdown run by backup quarterback Kale Pearson.
When Christensen and Calhoun met on the field for the post-game handshake, Christensen was seen on television shouting in the face of Calhoun. A low angle video of the tirade has since gone viral on the internet.
The Mountain West Conference publicly reprimanded Christensen for what he said in a post-game press conference as well as his conduct on the field. In that press conference Christensen questioned Air Force's ethics.
Christensen will not rejoin the Cowboys football program until Monday, October 29.
