PUEBLO, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo earned their first two victories of the season Friday after defeating Lindenwood (Mo.) and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in the opening day of the CSU-Pueblo Ramada Classic.
The ThunderWolves cruised to a 25-23, 25-18, 25-16 win over Lindenwood early in the day before they capped off the evening by defeating SWOSU 20-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-12.
The ThunderWolves played consistently and rarely from behind, only dropping one set on the entire day and committing just 22 attack errors in both matches compared to their opponents' combined total of 57.
Brianna Bryant (Sr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) and Morgan Wilkening (So., Fleming, Colo.) led the scoring for the ThunderWolves, recording 25 and 26 kills, respectively.
The team was also solid defensively, with Bryant contributing 10 blocks in the two matches. The team also combined for 121 digs on the day.
CSU-Pueblo will be back in action in the CSU-Pueblo Ramada Classic on Saturday when they take on Southwest Baptist at 1 p.m. and William Jewel at 7 p.m.
