UCCS History Made In Indoor Track

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Carson Aberle became the third Mountain Lion in program history to earn All-America honors in the indoor season with an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run at the 2014 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships today at the JDL Fast Track. He ran 1 minute and 55 seconds in the finals.

Aberle is the first indoor All-American for the men's program since 2009 and the first All-American in a track event since 2001. He was one of two RMAC All-Americans in the event and scored the first team points for the Mountain Lions at the indoor national championships since 2009.

UCCS finished in a tie for No. 47 in the team standings.

Up Next: The Mountain Lions will begin the outdoor season next weekend with the Jerry Quiller Classic at CU-Boulder, Colo.
