INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will be the fifth seed from the South Central Region in the 2013 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf West / South Central Region Championships to be held May 6-8 at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.
The Mountain Lions were the automatic qualifier from the RMAC with the conference championship win earlier this week. They join Colorado Mines, Colorado State-Pueblo and Western New Mexico as qualifying teams from the conference.
UCCS finished sixth in the Saint Martin’s Preview on the same course earlier this season, one stroke behind California State-Monterey Bay, the top seed in the West Region. The Mountain Lions won the next two tournaments to improve from eighth to fifth in the regional rankings.
The top five teams between the West and South Central Regions will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships 20-24 at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa. UCCS will be looking to qualify for the national tournament for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
